How I build it

The first architectural question is what belongs to a customer account and how access is enforced. I define account and project boundaries, then make billing and entitlements explicit in the data model and API.

Reevera uses a double-entry credit ledger with PostgreSQL row locks. MetaLLM includes usage-based billing. These are different commercial models, but both require the product to handle concurrent usage and clear user feedback.

Engineering decisions

Billing webhooks and background jobs can repeat or arrive late, so idempotency and reconciliation should be designed before launch. Permission checks must live server-side.

Scaling starts with understanding which tasks consume resources; isolating workers often helps more than splitting a young product into many services.
