Technical notes from shipped work

These short engineering notes point to real project decisions and the trade-offs behind them. Each note links to a case study with the project context. Longer standalone articles can follow when there is a specific implementation detail, diagram or measured result worth publishing.

Isolate long-running AI jobs

In Reevera, video planning, model calls, asset work and FFmpeg rendering run for different lengths of time and fail in different ways. The API should acknowledge a request and track the job; dedicated BullMQ worker pools perform the expensive stages. Separating render work from the API prevents a CPU spike from slowing ordinary product interactions.

The design still needs idempotency, retry limits and a state model clients can reconnect to. Reevera uses Redis Pub/Sub and SSE event IDs so the UI can resume progress after a disconnect.

Treat signature changes as protocol changes

Qbitcoin integrates Falcon-512 signatures into its blockchain transaction path. Replacing a signature algorithm affects key generation, transaction formats, validation and the clients that create or inspect transactions. It is not a switch isolated to a cryptography helper function.

The node, wallet-facing APIs and peer validation rules must agree about what constitutes a valid transaction. The case study describes the actual project scope without making claims about an external security audit.

Encryption is one part of private messaging

Gumnam uses encrypted protocol messages, but its design also has to consider identity, transport and local persistence. Tor hidden services reduce exposure of network endpoints; signed messages and onion-address identity checks help establish who sent a message.

A desktop client must communicate failures clearly when peers are unavailable. Local-first storage and clearing behavior matter because data can remain on the endpoint even if network content is protected.
